Dr. Diana Walker, DVM

Owner & Veterinarian

Dr. Walker graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and has dedicated her career to providing exceptional care to pets in the community.

“Two of the biggest parts of my days consist of client communication and patient care. Being able to provide gold standard communication and care to every client that comes through our doors is something that is valued very highly for both myself and the team. I take pride in being able to know how to research new techniques for treatments to common problems and being able to educate a pet’s owner on what is going on with their little, and sometimes not so little, bodies and how we can best treat whatever ailment they are facing. I appreciate being able to build rapport with the family members that entrust me with their pets and being able to advocate for those patients every day.

When I’m able to enjoy time away from the clinic, I enjoy baking quite a bit. I also enjoy spending time caring for my own animals which include a rottweiler, 2 dachshunds, chickens, and my very own beehives!”

Dr. Kristie Hostetler, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Hostetler earned her veterinary degree from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She is passionate about building lasting relationships with pets and their families, ensuring each patient receives both excellent medical care and compassion.

“What I love most about being a veterinarian is building relationships of trust with my clients—active listening and communication are everything, because we’re truly on the same team. I’m passionate about making both pets and their families feel supported, whether that’s through a reassuring word or helping an owner feel confident in the care their pet is receiving. Some of my favorite areas of practice include surgery, ophthalmology, and large animal medicine. I enjoy the challenges each case brings and am always looking forward to adding to my knowledge bank as I continue on with Bryan Animal Clinic and Veterinary Medicine. Outside the clinic, I enjoy traveling, reading, baking, and spending time with my husband, Tyler, my bonus daughter, Emma, and our pets—Sophie the dog and our cats, Augie and Mr. Tibbles. We’re soaking up this season as a family of three (humans) before welcoming our son, Luke, in December!”

Dr. Maria Melgar, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Melgar is a graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She is especially interested in emergency medicine and enjoys the fast pace and opportunity to make a meaningful impact in critical situations.

“What I enjoy most about being a veterinarian is the chance to make a real impact—both in the lives of animals and in the relationships I build with clients. I love getting to know people and their pets on a personal level. Learning about different cultures and how people care for their animals is something I find fascinating and deeply rewarding. Even early on in my career, it’s been incredible to see the trust clients place in us to care for their beloved pets.

When it comes to patient care, I believe in compassionate, individualized treatment. I take the time to listen, communicate honestly, and work as a team with each client to find the best path forward. My goal is always to build trust through clear, supportive conversations—because that’s the foundation of great care.

Right now, I’m especially interested in emergency medicine. I enjoy the fast pace and the opportunity to make a difference in critical situations. I’m also passionate about community outreach and education. I believe in making veterinary care more accessible and supporting pet owners with knowledge and resources.

Outside of the clinic, I love playing video games with my friends, spending time with my chinchillas, dogs, and cat, and going to K-pop concerts with my best friend. We travel to different cities for shows and love trying new foods along the way. I’m also a big anime fan and enjoy going to conventions when I can. These hobbies help me relax, recharge, and stay inspired!”

Dr. Alyssa Sauer, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Sauer graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She values strong communication with pet owners and strives to create a positive experience for every animal in her care.

“The thing I love most about being a veterinarian is getting to be a part of the special bond between animals and their families. Our pets are part of the family, and it’s a privilege to be trusted with their health and care. I’m grateful for the relationships I’ve formed and for being there through both the joyful moments and the challenging ones. And of course, the tail wags and soft purrs are a wonderful bonus too!

I believe one of the most important aspects of patient care is good communication. Our patients don’t have voices, so it’s my utmost priority to advocate for them and provide the best care possible. We can learn so much from their body language, and it’s important to make sure they feel comfortable and have a positive experience while in our care. I also truly value client education—not just providing information, but building a partnership with pet owners so we can make decisions together.

My interests in veterinary medicine include nutrition, neurology, surgery, emergency medicine, and internal medicine. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, cooking, and watching Aggie football!”
